Lead Me Home

Waking up I look out

I see the city early morning glow

What will the people think if they find that this is my home?

Last night, I cried as the rain falls

Hands shaking, hungry, none of the trash barrels had any food

Begging by the church hoping for some love

People looked to busy to help someone that looked like me

Will someone take my hand, take me, I’m lost in my nothingness,

Seeking what this world has, as for mine, it doesn’t have much

As I walk down the street

Love and a smile never seem to meet

So lie, looking out upon the new day

Will a piece of hope happen to come my way?

Home is where the heart is, this heart has been lost flowing around block by block

I’m drowning in a river of tears.

Will you be the dam, hold my sorrows, can I swim in your dreams

Take me out before the falls, please lead me home
