Into Daybreak

Charcoal sky, cool breeze mixed with northern rain

The past oversees the future

Psychical bruises healed long ago

The inner pain barely faded

Replays of a living nightmare, the wounds slowing healing

Despite the wind of rejection and rain of broken hope

Driving empty country roads yet eyes full of tears

Life had many stop signs still I kept moving

I left the storms, flying into daybreak

I give to the world what it held back from me

Love, stability, and hope

So many friends now but still I feel lonely

Their eyes of stone observe my life

But do they really know me? Would they really stand beside me?

I carried an emotional fortress built to last

The years have gone by fast, yet I’m amazed I made it though

One life to find your story and endeavor on

Past the rain tonight, is the sun, free and bright

Even in the purest dark, trapped inside can be a ray of faded light
