Forgotten Angel

He wakes up, prepares for school, eyes are sore from crying the day before

He steps up to the bus, fragile soul broken in today’s fate.

Nobody knows what he’s holding back, although some question his tear-stained mask

Wondering why he was even born, a question hard to answer when you are only twelve.

Little boy carrying the weight of a hidden emotional storm, walking alone in this world, the next morning feels like a long wait. Will his dream come before it’s too late?

He brings a sensitive heart; he’s an angel that this world forgot.

Standing in the cafeteria line, he endures more insults to add to the pain,

the bruises don’t seem to fade.

Surrounded by drowning rain, he cry’s himself asleep.

In his dreams, he discovers hidden wings and fly’s to a place with love.

A place a forgotten angel can bring a heart to find warmth,

a place for crying eyes to dry.

In life, he’s torn and hurt but in his dream, he’s a forgotten angel.
