Psalm 23

Psalm 23

Reflections

A Psalm of David

A poet of God resonating the chords of the heart through writing

The Lord is my shepherd

The caring eyes of the ruler and sustainer of my life watch over and protect me

I shall not want

You are more than enough for me; there is nothing more to want

He makes me to lie down in green pastures

Your grace and mercy demands the best for me,

You calm and cool me while restoring my vitality

He leads me beside the still waters.

Out of your incomparable love, you show me the stillness of the water

And though undeservedly, you pour the water on my thirsty soul

He restores my soul

You relieve my soul and heavy heart while renewing my hope

He leads me in the paths of righteousness

Taking my hand, you guide me on the path to heaven, reassuring me of my hope in you

For His name’s sake

Out of respect for your sovereignty

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death

Although I walk through deep dark moments, the trying anguish and confused emotions of life take me to the illusion of a hopelessness Mental, emotional and spiritual death

I will fear no evil

Despite the danger, my knowledge of your peace overpowers all evil

For you are with me

You were, am, and will be with and at the same time in me

Your rod and your staff, they comfort me

Your methods guide, protect and calm me

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies

You prepare a grand feast before my eyes in view of those against me

You anoint my head with oil

In gladness you accept me

My cup runs over

You give in abundance, always giving more than I imagine

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me; all the days of my life

The qualities of heaven will pursue me, I know your goodness

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever

You are my eternal refuge although I have not yet check-in,

I will remain focus on you and live in your house through for the rest of time
