The Laws of Life
Life is a coin. We can spend it any way a person wishes, but it can be spent only once. I choose to spend my life dwelling on values such as happiness, Love, and optimism. It is easier for me to make decisions when I know what my values are.
Happiness is not something we can reach through inner- strength. (But it takes strength from friends, family, and the Word of the Lord.) The type of strength needed in this world, is a type that few tap into. Happiness is not fully related to how much property a person has or how many friends, or how much money you can gather but in a positive attitude that anyone can reach if they are willing to put your heart into it. Just because I am positive doesn’t mean that all will go easy, good, or even the way I want it to. There will always be trials in life.
Optimism to me personally is closely related to Love. Love is a very powerful emotion, which is hard to put into words. This following exert from the NKJV of the Bible best sums up how powerful true love really is.
“ Love suffers long and is kind; Love does not envy; Love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; Does not behave rudely, does not seek his own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. “
‘ Love suffers long ‘ means that a person with true love has patience with imperfect people. ‘ Love does not envy ‘ means that real love wants other people to get ahead. ‘ Love does not parade itself ‘ means that love doesn’t put on a big show in order to impress others. Love is not ‘ puffed up ‘ refer to those who walk around with big heads. Love ‘ does not seek it’s own ‘ means that love isn’t self- centered. ‘ Love is not
provoked ‘; isn’t irritable under pressure. Love ‘ thinks no evil ‘means love doesn’t keep a record of wrongs done to it and is constantly forgiving. Love ‘ does not rejoice in iniquity ‘ and doesn’t rejoice in the mistakes and failures of others. Love ‘ rejoices in the truth ‘ means that love believes in what is open and honest. Love ‘ bears all things ‘ and is the kind of love that defends and holds other people up. Love ‘ believes the best ‘ about other people. Love ‘ hopes all things ‘ means that love never gives up on people. Love ‘ endures all things ‘ is a type of love that perseveres and is loyal to the end. I have never reached this type of pure love, but as a goal I desire to reach this type of love over time.
In conclusion, happiness, love, and optimism are all closely related to each other. It is these values that will give me that extra boost of energy when I need it most in the spinning coin of life.
