Woman’s Hand


 

Walking downtown I saw this painter

With every stroke of the brush

He said for $10 he can bring dreams to life.

I said you could start with a woman’s hand

Give the hand a diamond ring.

He said is that all you want me to paint?

I said if you can, paint my hand holding hers.

My hands are empty with no one to hold

But at least tonight I can finally see her hand.
