City Limits

Trapped in this small town city

People here don’t see many dreams come true

You can see yourself up in the sky

Your closest friends only ask why

Family reminds you of every other failed try

 

I’m sick of being where I am

Tired of people telling me who to be

Everyone knows where you’ve been,

they seen what you’ve done

I’m tired of not fitting in; everyone needs to chase after the sun

 

I want to give something new to this world

But I’ve lived in this city way too long

There’s hope when I leave everything behind,

There’s no better time to leave this city behind

 

I have to get my dreams out of these city limits

I’m not going sit around here, when I got a dream to live

Sure I may need a chance or two

Without a dream, how can one ever come true?

 

Life starts when you leave behind those city limits

I can’t stay the same, sometimes you just have to change

You never know what dream is to be found out there

The adventure starts when the rearview scene disappears

 

It’s time to start some living,

I got some dreams that want to see it
