Light of the World

Based on the following passages from The Message

Philippians 2:15

Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night

Matthew 5:14

“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill.

Matthew 5:15

If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand.

There are times when I go to churches I notice how they stand lonely and dark

They taken broken lives and tear them further apart.

Not knowing where to take the light, they overlook the seekers seeking heart.

I ran from the religion corrupted church into the world

There I found out how empty my soul truly was

I was searching for something to make the emptiness whole.

When I was breaking down, I found the great light of this world.

Deporting religion to impart on faith’s call

How can you bring light to the dark unless you take the light into the world?

You never know, maybe God’s plans for you to go far

Maybe you’re wanted to be a light where you are at

I didn’t wait for God to tell me when to start, I started and God met me there.
